They're dropping like flies over at Gillette Stadium as the Patriots make roster cuts to meet the 65 man limit. My favorite cut so far: Rohan Davey. It's not like Doug Flutie or Matt Cassell are going to see any playing time during the regular season, but it's nice to know we definitely won't be seeing this yuckel again.

Do you think Matt Cassell will amount to anything? Or will he end up like Rohan Davey and hang around for 4 years and get cut.
Cassell has that Brady underdog feeling, and Cassell played for the #1 College progam in the nation (granted as a backup), so you figure they may have something here.

I'm not sure about Cassell yet. In his pre-season action I've seen him get sacked, intercepted, fumble the ball and look like a scared puppy. But...I've also seen him make bullet passes, scramble for the first down and show flashes of thinking on his feet. I think he's got a ways to go...while being back up to two Heisman winning QBs he only saw limited playing time. He needs to put in his time in the NFL and get used to playing in the big leagues. Right now he's not staying the pocket for very long and I'm not sure if he's "seeing the whole field" yet, like Montana and Brady. Bottom line is he's got potential, but I don't think he'll get the playing time as third string QB for the Patriots to develop it.
