I'm humbled, really...all this just for me because I was feeling a little burning sensation in my stomach over our performance the last few weeks. Pepto Bismol would have done the trick, but I suppose this works just as well. Two homers by Ortiz, two homers by Manny, a homer by Trot...Tek hitting at every up...Schilling going seven innings and only giving up two runs...it was almost ordained as if on high and actually got boring after awhile. I can only hope that the momentum keeps up through the next eleven games. We got Wake on the mound tomorrow and I feel good about that. He's been our most dependable pitcher all season. I guess you really do have to get it as close as half a game away to wake up the bats and put some energy into those tired Sox bones as they creak out onto the ballfield.

Yeah, but they've got to face Scott Kazmir tonight. The guy owns them. Have you seen the numbers? Sick. I just hope that maybe it's about time the law of averages catches up with young Mr Kazmir and the Red Sox.

Bruce,
I have not seen the numbers, I'm afraid that's one of my weaknesses- not knowing pitching stats! Thankfully the law of averages prevailed tonight and WE owned him (yikes, was that really 117 pitches in just over five innings for Kazmir?). Close game tonight...hopefully we can keep it together for two more innings.
By the by...I like your website- the ten rules for sportswriters is hilarious (and I think I've committed half of them here in my short time blogging!).
I've got a question for you and I'll email you separately...from my aqbguy@gmail.com account. Thanks for reading and commenting!
