NASCAR a four letter word

NASCAR is a four letter word in Portsmouth. Right on the front page was a picture of one of Portsmouth’s finest pulling over a NASCAR demo vehicle. Not to get an autograph, but rather to issue a warning. It seems that the driver had let all 550 horses roar up to 55mph on the Spaulding Pike, an area not noted for high density residential.

One thing that must have shocked local liberals is that the driver is plainly visible and he has all his teeth! NASCAR1.GIF
For liberals NASCAR is defined as “a vile act committed among semi-literate, semi-consenting adults, resulting in large carbon footprints, and unfortunately fun and excitement; this act also results in shopping at WalMart and voting Republican.”

I could envision local liberal soccer moms grabbing the paper from their teenage sons, before they could see that picture, lest it invoke strong emotions. NASCAR2.GIF
Emotions so strong that would require mass counseling at the local high school, before said teenage boys could race out to the parking lot to rev their Priuses.

Is it possible for a teenage girl to get excited about a boy driving a burgundy Prius? God, for the sake of the country I hope not.

In the picture I also noticed a girl in the passenger’s seat. There was a time when that was a boy’s dream - a muscle car and a girl under each arm. I never experienced it, neither the muscle car nor the girls, but ahh …. a boy could dream!

Thank god for the heartland of this country, where the advent of a NASCAR demo vehicle is cause for a town picnic, the consumption of hotdogs, and no not Chablis, but rather Budweiser. In Portsmouth it seems cause to lock your daughters in their bedrooms.

Advocating women’s rights is a good thing. New Hampshire may end up with a woman Senator and the country with a woman president. But the homogenization of the sexes and the resulting wussification of both coasts is not good.

Here’s a salute to NASCAR, where men are men and a boy can dream.

Yes all my local liberal friends were certainly shocked! Should I be telling my Missouri pals to find another hobby because NASCAR is only for Republicans? What's next? Only Republicans can watch football?
I was wrong when my ex and I enjoyed going to New England Dragway and taking the kids. Lord, I appologize. I was a Republican and didn't know it.

The SUV has replaced the muscle car. I see moms speeding around in them all the time trying to keep up with thier busy family schedules. They could beat the pants off a Civic any day. But I'm not knocking a Civic either. I know someone who has one with 160,000 miles on it.
I saw a '67 Chevelle like I used to drive in front of Carl's this past weekend. Nice car. My son used to drive a 70s Monte Carlo with an Eidlebrock manifold, performance ignition, exhaust and tires, but he could care less about politics of any kind. I guess I better give him the news. I'll get him some Merle Haggard CDs for Christmas.

The cop who stopped him was obviously a liberal...

Dave - This isn't well known, but NASCAR is a Republican outreach program. I'm glad I was able to enlighten you to this. I understand that Toby Keith has a new Christmas album coming out. Maybe your son will like it. If you go to NASCAR you probably shop at WALMart. You can probably get the album there.

qpenta - liberal or conservative, a cop's gotta do what a cop's gotta do. Have you "slummed it" and gone to the dragway? You can tell me, I'm not like the others. I won't rat you out to your liberal pals.

I used to watch NASCAR racing with my dad
on TV from the early 1960s to the mid 1970s.
Saw it live a few times. Not that interesting to watch,
but neither is golf, bowling, or any baseball not
played by the Red Sox.
"For liberals NASCAR is defined as “a vile act
committed among semi-literate, semi-consenting adults,
resulting in large carbon footprints..."
How come I don't feel that way?
Must be a bad liberal...

I don't mind Tobey Keith. He's a democrat too, suprisingly enough. I saw him on Glen Beck.
As much as I hate to give my hard earned money to the Chinese I do get some things at Walmart. Of course it's hard to avoid the Chinese these days. Ever had Tsingtao beer? Not bad. At this rate we'll probably have a Tsingtao Beer racecar soon.

That cop was probably doing a routine grill check: "Please step out of the car sir, and smile"

Tobey Keith’s publicity agent, Elaine Schock, said his conservative reputation was a result of the times. He is a lifelong Democrat, Ms. Schock said, and the perception of him as conservative is a “myth.” “I think when you have a war,” she said, “people want you to be on one side or the other.”

I didn't go to NASCAR. New England Dragway. Racing for poor folks.
My son-in-law has been a Matt Kenseth fan since he was a rookie driver. He has the biggest collection of Matt Kenseth stuff I've ever seen. Democrat. Nine years ago they used to drive a Dodge Caravan with 60s style flowers, peace signs and "Make Love not War" on it.

My son wouldn't like Tobey Keith unless he covered Slipknot, Mudvayne or Stone Sour. Maybe he'll do a tribute someday. "Tobey Keith sings Corey Taylor: The Christmas Album"
