I received this letter from an Ohio reader who has a few critical observations about his Congressman: Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich.
Mr. McCord:
If you or any of your staff at the Portsmouth Herald happen to see my Congressional REPRESENTative Dennis J. Kucinich (MIA in Ohio for past 9 weeks and likely for next 9 months) again, kindly tell him to get his "butt" back to his home district before the last few still working residents become unemployed or finally move out.
Note that his district in northeast Ohio is a major part of the poorest major city in the nation: Cleveland (poorest two of past three years thanks to his and others' "efforts" )
Also, in his 10 and counting years of "service", he has had ONE sole D.J.K. sponsored bill which he got passed into law -- to allow a Ukrainian Museum to broadcast TV programs.
Such a major accomplishment and of course the locals' benefits are zero .
He was a joke 30 years ago as the X boy wonder mayor who was nearly recalled after leading Cleveland in only 1 year to become the first major U.S. city to financially default since the Depression.
And he hasn't gotten any better over the years. PATHETIC
He apparently cashes his D.C. check locally every month on flights to/from either coast where his presidential campaign is collecting pennies. More recently (March 2007) D.J.K. was cited by the FEC for continuing to spend our taxpayer monies ($137k) during his "Pres 2004" run after being declared a non candidate (ie less than 10% of votes in a series of consecutive primaries - for D.J.K. actually 1-2% total votes gathered). As expected he dismisses these violations as minor and has not paid or repaid our monies.
Just another example of "take our monies, 'play' by his D.J.K. rules, disregard the FEC mandated requirements and naturally claim you did nothing wrong." Same excuse used when he went MIA for 4 months in 2004 while "campaigning out of Ohio" yet continued to cash the Ohio-10 Congressional Representatives salary. PATHETIC.
Most recently mid March 2007 he is crying again about his exclusion from the few remaining pre November 2008 Presidential campaign debates yet this is exactly the same thing he has practiced on political opponents both within and outside his own party since 2002 - all to the detriment of the voters in NE Ohio. TRULY PATHETIC.
Again if you see him or more likely hear him crying - tell him to start earning his $168,500 salary by showing up for work and actually doing something positive for the residents - not for himself and partner the non-voter non-USA Citizen Mrs. D.J.K. III.
Look to his "Lack of Accomplishments" not his "Run my Mouth" words to determine his value, be it related to the war, health care, general finance, etc. and most importantly his well paid "efforts" to help the residents of NE Ohio!
