During a campaign stop yesterday in Portsmouth, Dem Joe Biden got passionate and personal when he told folks at an Iraq war focused forum (hosted by my employer) that simply cutting off funding for Bush's deadly folly wasn't an easy option. "It's Bush's war but our future and my son," Biden thundered while explaining his votes on funding the war. His son Beau, the Delaware Attorney General, is a National Guard Captain whose unit has orders for Iraq. More than any candidate I've seen on the trail this year, Biden has shared real anger about the war and when he talked about the 14,000 soliders who will need "a lifetime" of medical care because of their permanent injuries, the audience was riveted.
Here comes the slime.
The right-wing Swift Boat Liars brigade from 2004 have spawned more imitators and sure enough the always obliging mainstream media dimwits (i.e., Washington Post) have jumped for the bait. See here for a quick expose about the slime campaign against Dem Barack Obama for being a subversive element. It matches a 50-point anonymous letter I received recently recycling the wingnut fantasies from the 90s against Hillary Clinton. It's easy to dismiss this trash until you encounter people who actually believe the political equivilant of alien abductions.

Joe Biden and the Democrats are constanly Lying and intentionally misleading people. The President went into Iraq with the Approval of Congress. He has never and never will just order Military action on his own. This BS that Biden will impeach Bush if he attacks Iran gives the picture and reinforces the false impression of a Totalitarian Leader acting totaly on his own. When will people learn that these self-serving lying Pols (Biden, Clinton, Reid, et al) are in it for themselves and not for us?

You've obviously drunk the Kool-Aid of those who label the SwiftBoaters as liars. They were all officers, all there in VietNam, they were all either Kerry's supervisors or Commanding Officers of the other boats in his squadron. Since the boats operated in "wolfpack" formations often 50feet from each other, these other COs saw Kerry in action constantly and at close quarters. The one exception, that single enlisted guy from Kerry's boat whom Kerry constantly dragged around for refutation purposes, obviously cannot be trusted. What was his price for his role in the media? All of these officers, some of whom I know personally, put their own careers and reputations on the line to speak candidly about Kerry.
To this day, Kerry has not released all of his records. He chooses the records he makes available and then falsely claims that ALL records have been released. Kerry put his own record in play when he gave his famous "Reporting for duty" quote and then in an unseemly way, touted his own bravery. Real heroes do NOT tout their own bravery. If Kerry had allowed others to speak about his exploits, even if they embellished his record, the SwiftBoaters would not have come forward. But to have Kerry himself lie about his record was too much for them to bear.

I was in the room when Biden spoke. I was one of the hundred or so people present.
Here in NH we don't vote for a man we haven't met face to face, and I have met dozens of presidential candidates over the years. Joe Biden is the most qualified and experienced candidate in this year's field.
Joe Biden spoke forcefully and with a great depth of knowledge and understanding. He has personal knowledge of the people involved in the hot spots in the middle east and has spent more time in Iraq than any of the other candidates from either party.
And Joe Biden takes the train home to Delaware everynight to keep himself grounded outside the beltway baloney of the insular world that is Washington DC.
Joe Biden can and will restore the standing of this nation as the last best hope of humanity, and he will erase the stain of torture from the soul of this country.
I too was undecided when I entered the room in Portsmouth yesterday.
I no longer am.
Joe Biden is the man for the job

SENATOR Biden should have those Constitutional Experts he has been consulting with remind him that the power to impeach resides with the House not the Senate.

I'm sure Ahmadinejad and the Iranian mullahs who have been waging war against the US since the revolution are happy to hear the Senator's warnings. The US has had a bi-partisan agreement for more than forty years to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. But let's not let that get in the way of getting the real culprit: George Bush and those nasty neocons.
Anyway, as the commentator above noted, impeachment proceedings are drawn up by the House. Senator Biden cannot impeach anyone.
Although he did do a good job today of impeaching what little understanding he may have had of the Constitution or foreign policy.

When will the Dems ever learn? This isn't the 60's and we aren't talking Vietnam. The "lose and any cost" position will assure only one thing, that the DEMS will lose.
Biden is a fool. There is nothing impeachable about a President using his authority as Commander-In-Chief; just ask Bill Clinton about all his overseas interventions.
Politics doesn't "rise to the standard" of an impeachable offense, certainly not in comparison to perjury committed in a federal case (Clinton's perjury during the Lewinsky scandal was punishable by 5 years in prison).
In addition to the above, others have noted that the Senate doesn't impeach; that is the job of the House of Representatives. Biden is a moron. All those years in the Senate and he STILL doesn't know what he can and can't do.
P.S. Your blog shows that you are just as stupid as Joe Biden.

From a Delaware resident: Biden is one of the most arrogant morons in the Senate. He couldn't make a living here as a corporate lawyer so he joined the public defender's office. He's been sucking the Governments teat for decades. I guess he believes that imparts wisdom. His Son (AG)is a reserve Army JAG (Lawyer) if he deploys, the only war he'll see is the one over who gets the biggest desk!
