Ashtanga Weekend at Yoga East * April 17th - April 19th, 2009

Due to last minute cancellations, Yoga East in downtown Portsmouth has three spaces open for this weekend's workshop. David Swenson is an amazing practitioner, and this is a fantastic opportunity! David Swenson began practicing Yoga at a very early age. His older brother Doug was his first teacher. They practiced hatha yoga from whatever books they could find. David's introduction to Ashtanga came in 1973 when he met David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff in Encinitas, California. In 1975, David and Nancy brought K. Pattabhi Jois to the U.S. for the first time and Swenson was fortunate enough to be there. He then initiated studies directly with the master. Swenson made his first trip to Mysore in 1977 and learned the full Ashtanga system as it was originally taught by K. Pattabhi Jois.

Gardening with Children Class in Kittery - Tomorrow, Thursday, April 16th

This class is taking place from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Traip Academy tomorrow evening. Gardening is a great family activity. This class is for parents, teacher, grandparents - anyone who enjoys working with young children. Today when there is so much in the news about nature deficit disorder, come learn how much fun gardening together can be. You can learn the life cycles of plants and insects, and all gardeners learn patience!

The love of gardening is a gift to give your child that will last a life time. In this class you will learn why gardening benefits children and get ideas for child-friendly gardens that you can add to you own backyard. You will even get some plants to take home and start to garden the next day!

Jamie Foxx Bashing Miley Cyrus on the Radio

The above clip that has been posted on YouTube allegedly contains audio of Jamie Foxx unleashing a profanity-laced rant on Miley Cyrus on his Sirius Radio show The Foxxhole last weekend. Foxx, 41, and others in the studio are seemingly heard criticizing Cyrus' physical appearance and making other negative comments directed at her, including "make a sex tape and grow up" and a suggestion that she go out and catch a sexually transmitted disease. Foxx is currently doing press to promote his upcoming movie The Soloist, which opens April 24.
